- L2s support subcultures with their own playing fields, enabling them to build communities and develop new tech. This fosters a diversity of approaches, with each L2 still sharing “some common values and [working] together on key common infrastructure to achieve those values.”
- Accordingly, L2s spur healthy competition within the Ethereum community, and “there is a lot of value in trying to expand on these ideas,” Buterin concluded.
