Uniswap Labs has publicly launched its wallet browser extension on Chrome, supporting 11 different blockchains. The tool aims to enhance user experience by providing seamless and secure crypto self-custody directly within the browser.
What's the scoop?
- After unveiling the wallet browser extension in February and accumulating a waitlist of 793,391 users, Uniswap Labs has officially released it to the public. Users can now add the extension via the Chrome Web Store.
- The extension supports Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Blast, BNB Chain, Celo, Optimism, Polygon, ZKsync, and
Zora Network. It displays all user tokens in one place without needing to switch chains manually. - Unlike other browser wallets, the Uniswap Extension lives in the browser’s sidebar, allowing users to swap, sign transactions, and send or receive crypto without pop-ups.
Bankless take:
Uniswap is one of the best teams in crypto, and with this opening, they’re pushing full steam ahead on making their mark on the wallet scene here. Of course, this space is filled with heavy hitters today, like MetaMask, Rainbow, and 
Coinbase Wallet. The big differentiators for Uniswap Extension is 1) the streamlined sidebar experience, and 2) direct integrations with Uniswap’s other products. We’ll see if these are enough to help push the app ahead to the front of the pack.
